Description

A crunchy granola inspired by classic baklava flavors, made with toasted oats, mixed nuts, honey, and warm spices, quickly prepared in the air fryer for a fragrant and satisfying snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
  • 1/3 cup dried fruit such as raisins or chopped dates (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped walnuts, pistachios, sliced almonds, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the honey, olive oil or melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the honey mixture over the oats and nuts, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
  5. Spread the granola mixture in an even layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring it is not too thick.
  6. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even toasting.
  7. Remove the granola once it becomes golden and fragrant.
  8. Let the granola cool completely so it becomes crisp.
  9. Stir in the orange zest and dried fruit if using, then serve or store.

Notes

  • Watch the granola carefully while air frying because nuts and honey can brown quickly.
  • Dried fruit should be added after cooking to prevent burning.
  • Pecans or hazelnuts can be used instead of or in addition to other nuts.
  • Shredded coconut or sesame seeds can be added for extra texture.
  • For a vegan version, replace honey with maple syrup or agave syrup.
  • Store granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
