Air fryer cinnamon sugar French toast sticks are a quick and crispy breakfast treat made with thick bread slices dipped in a vanilla-cinnamon egg mixture, air fried until golden, and coated in cinnamon sugar. Perfect for dipping in syrup!

  • Total Time: 13 mins
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick bread (Texas toast, brioche, or challah)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk or cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for egg mixture)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Cooking spray or melted butter (for brushing)
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut bread slices into thick sticks (3–4 per slice).
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon.
  3. In a separate shallow dish, mix sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon for coating.
  4. Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, coating all sides but not soaking.
  5. Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange sticks in a single layer.
  6. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 7–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  7. Brush lightly with melted butter or spray, then toss warm sticks in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Serve immediately with maple syrup or your favorite dip.

Notes

  • Add nutmeg to egg mixture for extra warmth.
  • Use half-and-half for a richer flavor.
  • Serve with Nutella, caramel sauce, or fruit compote for variety.
  • Freeze leftovers and reheat in the air fryer for 3–4 minutes at 350°F.
  • Use thick, sturdy bread to prevent sogginess.
