Description

A cozy and comforting latte inspired by carrot cake, blending rich coffee with warm spices, brown sugar sweetness, and a subtle hint of carrot for a unique dessert-like drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brewed coffee or 12 shots espresso
  • 1 cup milk (any type)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp finely grated carrot
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine milk, grated carrot, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  2. Heat gently over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, and let it simmer for 3–5 minutes to infuse flavors.
  3. Strain the mixture to remove the carrot pulp.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour brewed coffee or espresso into a mug.
  6. Add the warm spiced milk mixture and stir to combine.
  7. Optional: Froth additional milk and add on top.
  8. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for a creamier texture, or plant-based milk for a dairy-free option.
  • Adjust brown sugar to control sweetness.
  • Add cream cheese syrup for a richer, dessert-like flavor.
  • Skip the carrot for a simpler spiced latte version.
  • Serve iced by cooling the milk mixture and pouring over ice.
  • Store spiced milk in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently before combining with fresh coffee.
