Cajun Shrimp Pasta is a bold and creamy dish that combines succulent shrimp, spicy Cajun seasoning, and a rich Parmesan sauce tossed with pasta. It’s a quick, satisfying Southern-inspired meal ready in just 30 minutes.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 23 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté shrimp until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add more oil or butter if needed. Sauté onion, garlic, and bell pepper until softened.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and let simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  8. Return shrimp to the skillet, then add pasta. Toss to combine and heat through.
  9. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Add crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Use spinach, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes for extra veggies.
  • Substitute cream with half-and-half or coconut milk for a lighter or dairy-free version.
  • Replace shrimp with chicken or sausage if preferred.
  • Use gluten-free pasta to accommodate dietary needs.
