This Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole layers crispy fries, seasoned ground beef, and gooey cheese into one delicious, comforting dish—perfect for feeding a hungry crowd or enjoying a casual family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp pickle relish (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bag (about 20 oz) frozen French fries
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: diced tomato, shredded lettuce, chopped pickles, extra ketchup or mustard for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown ground beef with diced onion and garlic over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in ketchup, mustard, pickle relish (if using), paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. Spread half the frozen fries in the bottom of the casserole dish.
  5. Layer the seasoned beef mixture over the fries.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the beef.
  7. Top with remaining fries and then the other 1 cup of cheese.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until fries are golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve topped with optional tomato, lettuce, pickles, and extra sauces.
