Description

Ingredients

  • For the brownie batter:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • For the cream cheese swirl:
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar together. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until the batter is smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until creamy and smooth.
  5. Pour most of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving a few spoonfuls.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the brownie layer.
  7. Dollop the reserved brownie batter on top and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
  9. Cool completely before slicing for clean layers.
