Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning or chopped fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, basil)
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Cooked white or brown rice, for serving
- Chopped fresh parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in broth and simmer for 1 minute. Add cream, salt, pepper, and herbs. Cook 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- If using, stir in Parmesan cheese for added richness.
- Return shrimp to skillet and toss gently in the sauce to coat.
- Spoon shrimp and sauce over warm rice and garnish with fresh herbs.

- Use coconut milk or half-and-half for a lighter or dairy-free option.
- Add sautéed spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra nutrition and color.
- Serve over pasta or mashed potatoes for variation.
- Fresh herbs provide brighter flavor, but dried seasoning works well too.
