Description

These Delightful Burger Bowls are a low-carb, bun-free take on a classic burger. With seasoned ground beef, crisp lettuce, colorful veggies, shredded cheese, and a tangy special sauce, they’re a healthy and satisfying meal that’s easy to customize.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternative)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 4 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • For the Special Sauce:
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp pickle juice or finely chopped pickles
  • 1/8 tsp paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the beef, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together all the sauce ingredients until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  4. Assemble bowls by layering chopped lettuce, then topping with cooked beef, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, cheese, and avocado slices if using.
  5. Drizzle with the special sauce or serve it on the side.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef (85–90%) for a flavorful but less greasy result.
  • Swap beef for ground turkey, chicken, or a plant-based crumble to fit dietary preferences.
  • For a dairy-free version, use a dairy-free cheese or skip the cheese entirely.
  • For a keto version, use sugar-free ketchup in the sauce and skip any high-carb toppings.
  • Store ingredients separately and assemble fresh to keep the lettuce crisp.
