Description
This Easy Lasagna Recipe is a simplified take on the classic comfort dish, featuring layers of rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melty mozzarella. Perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or feeding a hungry crowd.
Ingredients
- 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained (or use oven-ready)
- 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and Italian sausage)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley or basil, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with the egg and half of the Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of the baking dish.
- Layer 3 noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat layers two more times.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley or basil and serve.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or veggie mix for a lighter version.
- Add cream cheese to ricotta for extra richness.
- Spicy sausage and red pepper flakes add heat.
- Use oven-ready noodles to save time—ensure extra sauce for moisture.
- Let lasagna rest before slicing to help it set properly.
