Description
Easy taco cups are a bite-sized twist on classic tacos, using crispy wonton wrappers or tortillas filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and favorite taco toppings. Perfect as appetizers, snacks, or a quick dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Mexican blend, or Monterey Jack)
- 12 wonton wrappers or small flour tortillas (cut into circles if needed)
- Cooking spray or oil (for greasing muffin tin)
- Optional toppings: sour cream, diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, jalapeños, guacamole or avocado
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or oil.
- Press wonton wrappers or tortilla circles into each muffin cup to form a base.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer until the mixture thickens and is well combined.
- Spoon the beef mixture into each prepared cup and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until wrappers are golden and cheese is melted.
- Let cool slightly before removing from the pan. Add desired toppings before serving.
Notes
- Use ground turkey, chicken, or black beans as alternatives to beef.
- Add a layer of refried beans for more texture and flavor.
- Pre-bake the wrappers for extra crunch before filling.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
- Freeze after baking and reheat directly from frozen.
