Description

Easy taco cups are a bite-sized twist on classic tacos, using crispy wonton wrappers or tortillas filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and favorite taco toppings. Perfect as appetizers, snacks, or a quick dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Mexican blend, or Monterey Jack)
  • 12 wonton wrappers or small flour tortillas (cut into circles if needed)
  • Cooking spray or oil (for greasing muffin tin)
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, chopped cilantro, jalapeños, guacamole or avocado

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or oil.
  2. Press wonton wrappers or tortilla circles into each muffin cup to form a base.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning and water, simmer until the mixture thickens and is well combined.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture into each prepared cup and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until wrappers are golden and cheese is melted.
  7. Let cool slightly before removing from the pan. Add desired toppings before serving.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey, chicken, or black beans as alternatives to beef.
  • Add a layer of refried beans for more texture and flavor.
  • Pre-bake the wrappers for extra crunch before filling.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
  • Freeze after baking and reheat directly from frozen.
