Description
Fluffy air fryer churro bites are soft, airy, cinnamon‑sugar‑coated treats made easily in the air fryer—offering all the classic churro flavor with less mess and no deep frying.
Ingredients
- For the churro dough:
- 1 ½ cups all‑purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the coating:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoon‑sized portions of dough and roll gently into small balls.
- Place the dough balls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until puffed and golden brown.
- While still warm, brush each churro bite with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar until coated.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom into the cinnamon sugar for extra warmth.
- Serve with chocolate ganache, dulce de leche, or raspberry sauce for dipping.
- Stuff with Nutella or cream cheese before air frying for a surprise center.
- Use plant‑based butter and almond milk to make them dairy‑free.
- Shape the dough into small logs instead of balls for a more traditional churro look.
