Description

Fluffy air fryer churro bites are soft, airy, cinnamon‑sugar‑coated treats made easily in the air fryer—offering all the classic churro flavor with less mess and no deep frying.

Ingredients

  • For the churro dough:
  • 1 ½ cups all‑purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the coating:
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
  5. Scoop tablespoon‑sized portions of dough and roll gently into small balls.
  6. Place the dough balls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  7. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until puffed and golden brown.
  8. While still warm, brush each churro bite with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar until coated.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom into the cinnamon sugar for extra warmth.
  • Serve with chocolate ganache, dulce de leche, or raspberry sauce for dipping.
  • Stuff with Nutella or cream cheese before air frying for a surprise center.
  • Use plant‑based butter and almond milk to make them dairy‑free.
  • Shape the dough into small logs instead of balls for a more traditional churro look.
