Description

French dip tortilla roll ups are a handheld twist on the classic French dip sandwich. With roast beef, melty cheese, and a golden toasted tortilla, they’re served with savory au jus for dipping—perfect for lunch, dinner, or parties.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz deli-style roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 4 medium flour tortillas
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (for toasting)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Optional: horseradish sauce, mustard, or mayo

For the au jus:

  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter or brush with olive oil.
  2. Lay out tortillas. Layer with roast beef, cheese, and optional spread (horseradish, mustard, or mayo).
  3. Roll tightly and place seam-side down in skillet.
  4. Toast 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
  5. Meanwhile, combine beef broth, Worcestershire, soy sauce, garlic, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
  6. Slice roll ups and serve warm with au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • Add caramelized onions or use pepper jack for more flavor.
  • Low-carb tortillas or lettuce wraps can be used for lighter versions.
  • Make ahead and store un-toasted rolls in fridge for quick cooking later.
  • Reheat in a skillet or air fryer for the best texture.
