Description
French dip tortilla roll ups are a handheld twist on the classic French dip sandwich. With roast beef, melty cheese, and a golden toasted tortilla, they’re served with savory au jus for dipping—perfect for lunch, dinner, or parties.
Ingredients
- 8 oz deli-style roast beef, thinly sliced
- 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
- 4 medium flour tortillas
- 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (for toasting)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Optional: horseradish sauce, mustard, or mayo
For the au jus:
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter or brush with olive oil.
- Lay out tortillas. Layer with roast beef, cheese, and optional spread (horseradish, mustard, or mayo).
- Roll tightly and place seam-side down in skillet.
- Toast 2–3 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
- Meanwhile, combine beef broth, Worcestershire, soy sauce, garlic, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
- Slice roll ups and serve warm with au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Add caramelized onions or use pepper jack for more flavor.
- Low-carb tortillas or lettuce wraps can be used for lighter versions.
- Make ahead and store un-toasted rolls in fridge for quick cooking later.
- Reheat in a skillet or air fryer for the best texture.
