Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease lightly.
- Melt butter with 1½ cups chocolate chips in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Slowly pour in the cooled chocolate mixture, whisking constantly to combine.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—do not overmix.
- Stir in remaining 1½ cups of chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Add walnuts or pecans for crunch.
- Stir in 1 tsp espresso powder for a mocha twist.
- Use a mix of dark or white chocolate chips for variety.
- Top with melted chocolate or sea salt for extra flair.
- Use 1:1 gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
