Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for cooking)
- 4 burger buns (brioche or potato rolls recommended)
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef with minced garlic, 2 tablespoons Parmesan, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties with a shallow indentation in the center of each.
- Preheat a skillet or grill over medium–high heat and brush with olive oil or add butter.
- Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with remaining Parmesan and cover to melt.
- Toast burger buns on the skillet or grill until golden, if desired.
- Assemble burgers with condiments and toppings of choice. Serve hot.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best melt and flavor.
- Do not overmix the beef mixture to keep patties tender.
- Shape with an indentation to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Add provolone or Swiss cheese for extra gooeyness.
- Ciabatta rolls or lettuce wraps can replace buns for variety.
