Description

Garlic butter crab and shrimp is a rich and indulgent seafood dish, featuring tender crab and juicy shrimp in a silky, garlicky butter sauce. Perfect for dipping or spooning over rice, it’s a quick and flavorful meal that feels like a restaurant-quality dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb crab legs or crab meat (pre-cooked)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Old Bay or Cajun seasoning for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
  3. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using), then add them to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Add crab legs or crab meat to the skillet and gently toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the seafood and stir in chopped parsley.
  6. Let everything simmer for 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  7. Serve hot with extra lemon wedges, crusty bread, or rice on the side.

Notes

  • Frozen seafood works great—just thaw and pat dry before cooking.
  • For less mess, use shelled crab meat instead of crab legs.
  • For a creamy twist, add a splash of heavy cream at the end for a garlic butter cream sauce.
  • If you prefer spice, add Cajun or Old Bay seasoning to taste.
  • Pair with crusty bread, rice, pasta, or mashed cauliflower for a low-carb option.
