Ingredients
For the pasta:
- 8 ounces spaghetti or fettuccine
For the shrimp:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
For the sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Shrimp: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until cooked through. Set aside.
- Cook the Garlic: In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook until fragrant.
- Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Return shrimp to the skillet. Add drained pasta, lemon juice, and half of the parsley. Toss to coat in the sauce.
- Check Seasoning: Adjust seasoning with salt or pepper as needed.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with remaining parsley, and top with Parmesan cheese.
