The garlic parmesan cheeseburger is an indulgent twist on the classic burger, featuring juicy beef patties seasoned with garlic and topped with garlicky butter, melted parmesan, and a creamy parmesan sauce. It’s rich, savory, and perfect for when you want a gourmet burger experience at home.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 burgers

Ingredients

  • For the patties:
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • For the garlic butter:
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • For the parmesan sauce:
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • To assemble:
  • 4 burger buns (brioche or potato)
  • 4 tbsp grated parmesan (for topping patties)
  • Lettuce, tomato, or arugula (optional)
  • Red onion slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make garlic butter: Melt butter in a small pan, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in parsley and set aside.
  2. Make parmesan sauce: Simmer cream and garlic in a saucepan. Whisk in parmesan until melted. Stir in cream cheese if using. Season with salt and pepper and keep warm.
  3. Form ground beef into 4 patties. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Cook patties on a hot skillet or grill for 3–4 minutes per side. In the last minute, sprinkle with parmesan and cover to melt.
  5. Toast buns in a skillet or under a broiler. Brush with garlic butter.
  6. Assemble burgers with patties, parmesan sauce, and optional toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Mix parmesan into the patties for even more flavor.
  • Swap beef for turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce for a spicy twist.
  • Store patties separately and make the sauce fresh for best results.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for optimal melting and flavor.
