Description

These heart shaped brownies are rich, fudgy, and perfect for any occasion that calls for a little extra love. Simple to make and easy to decorate, they turn a classic treat into a thoughtful dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and let cool slightly. Mix with granulated and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Whisk in eggs and vanilla until the mixture is glossy and well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 22–28 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  7. Cool completely in the pan, then lift out using parchment paper.
  8. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out brownies. Handle carefully for clean edges.

Notes

  • Drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar for a simple finish.
  • Add raspberries or chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.
  • Don’t overbake—remove when the center is still slightly soft for fudgy texture.
  • Brownies can be made a day ahead and stay fresh.
  • Freeze in a single layer, then store in a container for up to 2 months.
