- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and let cool slightly. Mix with granulated and brown sugar until smooth.

- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 22–28 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
- Cool completely in the pan, then lift out using parchment paper.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out brownies. Handle carefully for clean edges.
Notes
- Drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar for a simple finish.
- Add raspberries or chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.
- Don’t overbake—remove when the center is still slightly soft for fudgy texture.
- Brownies can be made a day ahead and stay fresh.
- Freeze in a single layer, then store in a container for up to 2 months.
