Description

A Homemade Caramel Latte is a cozy, café‑style treat blending rich espresso (or strong coffee) with steamed milk and luscious caramel sauce. It’s quick, rich, and customizable — sweet, creamy, and perfect for a comforting morning or afternoon pick‑me-up.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup brewed espresso or very strong coffee
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, or choice of milk)
  • 23 tbsp caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional: whipped cream, for topping
  • Optional: extra caramel sauce for drizzle
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt (for a salted‑caramel twist)

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong shot (or about ½ cup) of espresso or very strong coffee.
  2. While coffee brews, heat the milk on the stovetop or in the microwave until hot but not boiling. Froth the milk using a frother, whisk, or blender until nice and foamy.
  3. Stir 2–3 tablespoons of caramel sauce into the hot coffee until fully dissolved.
  4. Pour the frothed milk over the caramel‑coffee mixture, holding back foam with a spoon, then spoon the foam on top.
  5. Top with whipped cream (if using), drizzle a little extra caramel sauce, and add a pinch of sea salt for a salted‑caramel twist (optional).
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • For a salted caramel latte, sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top.
  • Use non‑dairy milks (oat, almond, soy) and non‑dairy whipped topping to make it dairy‑free.
  • Adjust the amount of caramel to control sweetness. Start with 1–2 tbsp and add more if desired.
  • For an iced version: brew coffee and caramel, pour over ice, then add cold frothed milk.
  • If you don’t have a milk frother, shake hot milk in a jar with a tight lid or whisk vigorously before pouring.
