Description

A quick and comforting sandwich packed with shredded chicken in marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and Parmesan, grilled between buttery golden bread for an easy chicken Parmesan-inspired meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices sandwich bread or Italian bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder until well combined.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place four slices of bread butter-side down on a clean surface.
  4. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese onto each slice.
  5. Spoon the chicken marinara mixture evenly over the mozzarella.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top, then add another layer of mozzarella.
  7. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  8. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches in the pan.
  9. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  10. Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
