Description

A light and refreshing dessert featuring a smooth, airy lime mousse with bright citrus flavor, perfect for an elegant and make-ahead treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can (400g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 tbsp lime zest
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed biscuits or graham crackers (optional)
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk with lime juice and lime zest until smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Add vanilla extract if using.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the lime mixture until light and airy.
  5. If desired, add a layer of crushed biscuits at the bottom of serving cups.
  6. Spoon or pipe the mousse into cups.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  8. Top with whipped cream or extra lime zest before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix when folding to keep the mousse airy.
  • Chill long enough to ensure proper setting.
  • Add cream cheese for a richer variation.
  • Can be frozen for a firmer, ice-cream-like texture.
