Description
Louisiana Voodoo Fries are loaded, spicy Cajun fries topped with melted cheddar, creamy voodoo sauce, and bold Southern flavor. Crispy, cheesy, and just the right amount of heat, they make a crave-worthy side or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 lb frozen or fresh-cut French fries
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup pickled or fresh jalapeño slices (optional)
- For the Voodoo Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Dijon or yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1–2 tsp hot sauce (to taste)
- 1 tsp vinegar or pickle juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven or air fryer and cook fries according to package directions or until golden and crispy.
- While fries cook, whisk together all voodoo sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning or heat as desired.
- Once fries are done, transfer to a baking sheet or serving tray and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning.
- Top fries with shredded cheddar and return to oven just until cheese is melted, about 3–5 minutes.
- Drizzle warm fries with voodoo sauce, then garnish with chopped green onions and jalapeño slices if using.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Notes
- Use thick-cut or crinkle fries for best texture and topping hold.
- Adjust voodoo sauce heat level by changing the amount of hot sauce.
- Add grilled chicken, pulled pork, or sausage to turn this into a meal.
- Make dairy-free by using vegan cheese and mayo.
- Wait to drizzle sauce until serving to keep fries crispy longer.
