Description
These Olive Garden–style breadsticks are soft, fluffy, and brushed with buttery garlic goodness. Perfect for pairing with soups, pastas, or enjoying as a cozy snack straight from the oven.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of salt (for topping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in olive oil, salt, and flour until a dough forms. Knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each into a breadstick shape and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise again for 15–20 minutes while preheating oven to 400°F (205°C).
- Bake for 12–14 minutes until lightly golden.
- Immediately brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and a pinch of salt.
- Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Add grated Parmesan or Italian seasoning to the butter for extra flavor.
- Brush with butter before and after baking for a softer crust.
- Make smaller or larger breadsticks based on your serving needs.
- Store at room temperature for up to 2 days; reheat to restore softness.
