Ingredients
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil (high-quality recommended)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (fresh or roasted)
- 1 tsp dried herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, or rosemary)
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1–2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Pour the olive oil into a shallow bowl or plate.
- Add garlic, herbs, salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to combine.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes on top if using.
- Drizzle a little balsamic vinegar in the center for extra flavor (optional).
- Serve immediately with slices of warm, crusty bread such as baguette, ciabatta, or sourdough.
Notes
- Use the best olive oil you can—it makes a big difference.
- For a fresh twist, swap in finely chopped fresh herbs instead of dried.
- A touch of lemon zest or sun-dried tomato paste can add brightness and depth.
- If storing, refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3 days. Bring to room temperature before serving.
