Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper and arrange them in a single layer in the dish.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, orange zest, grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water, then stir it into the sauce.
- Cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken thighs.
- Bake for 30 minutes, spooning sauce over the chicken halfway through cooking.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
- Broil for a few minutes at the end to caramelize the sauce.
- Adjust honey for a sweeter glaze if desired.
- Sauce can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated.
