Description
This Papaya Juice is a smooth, naturally sweet tropical drink made from ripe papaya, citrus juice and optional sweetener. It’s refreshing, hydrating and packed with nutrients—perfect for a quick morning boost or a light afternoon refresh.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ripe papaya, peeled, deseeded and chopped
- 1 cup cold water (adjust for thickness)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime or lemon juice
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on sweetness of the papaya)
- Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Peel the papaya, remove seeds and chop the flesh into chunks.
- Add papaya chunks to a blender along with cold water and lime or lemon juice.
- If the papaya isn’t very sweet, add honey or sugar to taste.
- Blend on high until completely smooth. Add more water if you prefer a thinner consistency.
- Strain through a fine‑mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother texture (optional).
- Pour the juice into glasses over ice cubes and serve immediately, or chill in the fridge before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor add a small piece of fresh ginger before blending.
- Substitute part of the water with coconut water or milk for a creamier version.
- Frozen papaya chunks can be used instead of ice for a thicker, chilled texture.
- Mint leaves or a splash of orange juice make excellent variations.
