Ingredients
- 1 lb frozen or homemade French fries
- 3/4 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 4–6 slices provolone or American cheese (or 1 cup shredded cheese)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: mayonnaise or cheese sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Cook fries according to package directions or make homemade fries. Bake or fry until crispy and golden.
- While fries cook, heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sauté onions and bell pepper (if using) until softened and slightly caramelized.
- Add garlic and steak to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the steak is browned and cooked through.
- Layer cooked fries on a serving plate or pan. Top evenly with steak and vegetable mixture.
- Add cheese on top and cover with a lid or foil until melted.
- Drizzle with mayonnaise or cheese sauce if desired. Serve immediately.
