Ingredients

  • 1 cup waffle batter (homemade or prepared mix)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (or preferred melting cheese)
  • Your choice of toppings: pepperoni, cooked sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, olives, etc.
  • Optional: grated Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning
  • Non-stick spray or butter for waffle iron

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron and lightly spray or brush with butter.
  2. Pour a small ladle of waffle batter into each well, enough to coat the bottom.
  3. Add a spoonful of pizza sauce over batter, sprinkle with cheese, and layer desired toppings.
  4. Cover with another thin layer of batter to seal the filling.
  5. Close the waffle iron and cook for 3–5 minutes, until waffles are golden and crispy.
  6. Carefully remove the stuffed waffles. Repeat until all batter and fillings are used.

  • Add pepperoni and red pepper flakes for a spicy twist.
  • Include sautéed veggies like mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for a veggie version.
