Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (for sautéing)
- Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a casserole dish.
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat oil or butter and sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess grease.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
- Layer half of the noodles in the casserole dish, spread half the cream cheese mixture, and top with half the beef mixture. Repeat layers.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.
