Ingredients
- 1/2 lb raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Cajun or Creole seasoning
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (e.g., Louisiana hot sauce)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley or extra green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the shrimp in olive oil or butter with garlic and a pinch of Cajun seasoning until pink. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, hot sauce, remaining Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Stir in cooked shrimp, green onions, cheddar, and pepper jack cheese (reserving a bit of each cheese for topping).
- Transfer mixture to a baking dish, sprinkle reserved cheese on top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley or more green onions. Serve warm with chips, bread, or veggies.
Notes
- Add chopped crab or crawfish for a seafood twist.
- Reduce hot sauce or use milder cheese for a less spicy version.
- Try smoked paprika or bacon bits for extra depth.
- Best served warm and fresh—texture may change if frozen.
- Make ahead and refrigerate before baking.
