Description

Steak with Creamy Garlic Shrimp is a luxurious surf-and-turf dish featuring seared steak topped with shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce—perfect for date night or a special dinner at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for searing)
  • 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or chives (for garnish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp, sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until just pink.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low, pour in heavy cream, and stir in Parmesan cheese. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add lemon juice and stir. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Plate steaks and spoon creamy garlic shrimp and sauce over the top. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add a splash of white wine to the sauce for extra depth.
  • For a spicier version, stir in crushed red pepper flakes or Cajun seasoning.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or pasta to stretch the meal.
  • Use coconut cream for a dairy-free alternative (omit Parmesan).
