Description
Steak with Creamy Garlic Shrimp is a luxurious surf-and-turf dish featuring seared steak topped with shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce—perfect for date night or a special dinner at home.
Ingredients
- 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for searing)
- 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or chives (for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp, sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until just pink.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, pour in heavy cream, and stir in Parmesan cheese. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add lemon juice and stir. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Plate steaks and spoon creamy garlic shrimp and sauce over the top. Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot.
Notes
- Add a splash of white wine to the sauce for extra depth.
- For a spicier version, stir in crushed red pepper flakes or Cajun seasoning.
- Serve over mashed potatoes or pasta to stretch the meal.
- Use coconut cream for a dairy-free alternative (omit Parmesan).
