Description

Strawberries and Cream Puppy Chow is a fruity, creamy no-bake snack mix made with strawberry-flavored cereal, white chocolate, and powdered sugar. It’s crunchy, sweet, and perfect for parties, holidays, or gifting.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups strawberry-flavored cereal (like Strawberry Chex)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese or vanilla frosting (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the strawberry-flavored cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips with butter or frosting (if using) in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and gently mix until all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal to a large zip-top bag or container with a lid.
  5. Add powdered sugar, crushed freeze-dried strawberries (if using), and a pinch of salt to the bag.
  6. Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is evenly coated with the sugar mixture.
  7. Spread the puppy chow out on a baking sheet or parchment paper to cool and set for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use plain Chex cereal with strawberry extract or freeze-dried strawberries if strawberry-flavored cereal isn’t available.
  • Butter or frosting adds creaminess to the melted chocolate but is optional.
  • Add mini marshmallows, yogurt-covered raisins, or sprinkles for variety.
  • Let the mix cool completely before storing to keep it crisp.
  • This treat is not safe for dogs—it’s for people only.
