Description

Sweet and Savory Roasted Orange Chicken features juicy, golden chicken thighs roasted in a bright, sticky glaze of orange juice, soy sauce, honey, and garlic. It’s a bold and flavorful dish that’s both comforting and elegant.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sliced oranges and fresh herbs (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk orange juice, zest, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, oil, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Place chicken in a baking dish or skillet and pour sauce over, turning to coat.
  5. Roast for 40–45 minutes, basting once or twice, until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Optional: Remove chicken and simmer pan juices on stove to reduce into a glaze.
  7. Garnish with orange slices and herbs before serving.
