Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
- Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper. Spread the beef mixture in the bottom of the baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour over the beef layer.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Arrange tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tots are golden and filling is bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
