Description

Twix Thumbprint Cookies are buttery shortbread-style cookies filled with soft caramel and topped with a drizzle of melted chocolate. They’re a homemade twist on the classic Twix candy bar — simple, sweet, and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2024 soft caramels (like Kraft or Werther’s)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips or melting chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet. Press a thumbprint or spoon into the center of each ball to form a well.
  5. Bake for 12–14 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Cool completely.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt caramels with heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
  7. Spoon caramel into the center of each cookie and allow it to set slightly.
  8. Melt chocolate and drizzle over cookies using a fork or piping bag. Let chocolate set before serving.
