Description

Za’atar Garlic Salmon is a quick and flavorful Middle Eastern-inspired dish made with garlic, lemon, and za’atar seasoning. The salmon roasts until crispy on top and flaky inside, offering a vibrant and healthy meal in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
  • 2 tbsp za’atar seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley or mint for garnish
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, za’atar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush the za’atar mixture generously over the top.
  4. Roast salmon for 12–15 minutes, until it flakes easily with a fork and the top is lightly golden.
  5. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh herbs if using, and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Add a drizzle of tahini or yogurt sauce for extra creaminess.
  • Serve over couscous, quinoa, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Swap salmon with trout or cod for variation.
  • Roast cherry tomatoes or onions alongside the salmon for extra flavor.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for crunch and depth.
