Description
Celebrate the 4th of July with festive chocolate covered strawberries. These delightful treats feature fresh strawberries dipped in creamy white candy melts and adorned with red, white, and blue sprinkles, making them perfect for any patriotic celebration.
Ingredients
Fruits
- 24 fresh strawberries
Chocolate Coating
- 1 cup white candy melts or white chocolate melting wafers
Toppings
- 1/2 cup red, white, and blue nonpareil sprinkles
Instructions
- Wash Berries: Thoroughly wash the strawberries under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities, then gently pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they are completely dry before dipping, as any moisture will affect the coating adherence.
- Melt Candy: Place the white candy melts or white chocolate wafers in a small deep microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth without any lumps.
- Dip Strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted white chocolate until approximately two-thirds of the berry is covered. Immediately follow by dipping the exposed chocolate-covered portion into the red, white, and blue sprinkles to coat about one-third of the dipped area.
- Set to Harden: Carefully place each decorated strawberry onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper. If using white chocolate, refrigerate the baking sheet to allow the chocolate to harden completely. If using candy melts, letting them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes is sufficient, but in humid conditions, refrigeration is recommended to prevent melting.
- Enjoy: Once hardened, serve your festive 4th of July chocolate covered strawberries immediately, or store them in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent the chocolate from seizing or sliding off.
- If you don’t have candy melts, good-quality white chocolate can be used as a substitute.
- For best results, chill strawberries in the fridge before dipping to help the chocolate set faster.
- Store finished strawberries in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
