Description

This elegant baked brie recipe combines creamy, melted brie cheese with the sweet and tangy flavors of fresh blackberries and blueberries, complemented by crunchy toasted pecans. Perfect as an impressive appetizer for gatherings or a cozy indulgence, it delivers a delightful balance of creamy, fruity, and nutty tastes wrapped in a warm, gooey bite.

Ingredients

Cheese

  • 1 wheel (8 oz) brie cheese

Fruit Topping

  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

Nuts

  • 1/4 cup pecans, toasted and roughly chopped

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (optional, if wrapping the brie)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the brie.
  2. Prepare Brie: If using puff pastry, roll out the sheet and place the brie in the center. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg, then wrap the brie tightly and seal the edges. If not using pastry, place the brie on a baking dish or oven-safe plate.
  3. Add Fruit and Nuts: In a small bowl, toss the blackberries and blueberries with the honey and fresh thyme leaves. Spoon this mixture evenly over the top of the brie. Sprinkle the toasted pecans on top of the fruit.
  4. Bake: Place the prepared brie in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is soft and gooey and the pastry, if used, is golden brown.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve warm with sliced baguette, crackers, or fresh fruit on the side.

Notes

  • You can wrap the brie in puff pastry for an elegant presentation and added texture; it’s optional.
  • To toast pecans, dry roast them in a skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant.
  • Fresh thyme can be substituted with rosemary or sage for a different herbal note.
  • For added sweetness, drizzle extra honey just before serving.
