Description

Tender pasta tubes stuffed with savory ground beef, creamy ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, baked in rich marinara sauce until golden and bubbly for the ultimate comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 12 pasta tubes or cannelloni shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta tubes until slightly firm according to package instructions. Drain and let cool.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
  4. Add minced garlic and ground beef. Cook until the beef is browned completely. Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  5. In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the cooked beef mixture. Mix until fully combined.
  6. Spread a layer of marinara sauce across the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Stuff each pasta tube with the beef and cheese filling and arrange them side by side in the baking dish.
  8. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed pasta tubes.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the pasta before stuffing to prevent tearing.
  • You can assemble the dish ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
  • Ground turkey or Italian sausage can be substituted for ground beef.
  • Add spinach to the filling for extra freshness and nutrition.
  • Freeze unbaked stuffed pasta tubes for up to 2 months.
  • Add extra marinara sauce before reheating leftovers to keep the pasta moist.
