Description
Tender salmon fillets coated in a rich Cajun honey butter glaze with bold smoky spices, garlic, and fresh lemon for a quick and flavorful seafood dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Season the salmon lightly with salt, black pepper, Cajun seasoning, and paprika.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until nearly cooked through.
- Lower the heat and add the butter, honey, and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Stir gently as the butter melts and the sauce combines.
- Spoon the sauce repeatedly over the salmon for 1 to 2 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Add cayenne pepper for extra heat.
- Grill the salmon instead of pan-searing for a smoky flavor.
- Add a splash of hot sauce or brown sugar for deeper flavor.
- For a lighter version, reduce the butter and serve with vegetables or salad.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently to avoid drying out the salmon.
- Leftover salmon works well cold in salads or rice bowls.
- Salmon is fully cooked when it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout.
