Description

A flavorful and spicy Chili Crisp Beef Noodles recipe combining tender beef, chewy noodles, and a bold chili crisp sauce. This dish is perfect for a quick and satisfying meal with an irresistible combination of spicy, savory, and umami flavors.

Ingredients

Beef and Marinade

  • 200g beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Noodles

  • 200g Chinese wheat noodles or fresh egg noodles

Chili Crisp Sauce

  • 2 tbsp chili crisp oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Chinese black vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced

Additional Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef: In a bowl, combine thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Toss well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to tenderize and infuse flavor.
  2. Cook the noodles: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to package instructions until tender but still chewy, usually about 3-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the chili crisp sauce: In a small bowl, mix together chili crisp oil, soy sauce, black vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  4. Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry until it just turns brown and is cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Combine: Add the cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef, pour over the chili crisp sauce, and toss everything together gently but thoroughly to coat the noodles and beef with the sauce.
  6. Garnish and serve: Transfer the noodles and beef to serving bowls. Top with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro if desired. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy the spicy, savory flavors.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more chili crisp oil or fresh chili slices.
  • You can substitute beef with chicken or pork if preferred.
  • Adjust soy sauce and vinegar to taste for preferred saltiness and tanginess.
  • If you prefer a less oily dish, reduce the amount of chili crisp oil and vegetable oil used.
  • For gluten-free option, use rice noodles and gluten-free soy sauce.
