Description

Crispy wonton wrappers topped with savory seasoned chicken, melted cheese, spicy jalapeños, and fresh toppings for a fun twist on classic nachos. Perfect for parties, game nights, or casual dinners.

Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut the wonton wrappers into triangles.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat.
  3. Fry the wonton pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Transfer the fried wontons to a paper towel-lined plate and season lightly with salt.
  5. In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and sesame oil.
  6. Arrange the crispy wonton chips on a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter.
  7. Top with the seasoned chicken, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and sliced jalapeños.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and top with green onions, diced tomatoes, cilantro, avocado, sour cream, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha.
  10. Serve immediately while the wonton chips remain crispy.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quicker preparation.
  • For extra spice, add serrano peppers or more sriracha.
  • For a sweeter flavor, add extra sweet chili sauce or a drizzle of honey to the chicken mixture.
  • Add black beans, corn, or pickled onions for extra texture and flavor.
  • The wonton chips can be baked instead of fried for a lighter version.
  • Store leftover chicken separately from the chips to maintain crispiness.
  • Refrigerate the chicken mixture for up to 4 days.
  • Fully assembled nachos are best enjoyed immediately.
