Description
These Easy Air Fryer Donuts are a quick and delicious treat made with store-bought biscuit dough. Air frying gives them a perfectly golden and crispy exterior without deep frying, while a cinnamon-sugar coating adds a sweet, spicy finish. A simple vanilla glaze can also be made for extra indulgence. Perfect for a weekend breakfast or an anytime snack!
Ingredients
Donuts
- 1 can store-bought flaky biscuit dough (refrigerated)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil spray (for air fryer basket)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Optional Vanilla Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Slice the Dough: Remove the biscuit dough from the can and place it on a clean cutting board. Slice the dough into eight equal pieces. Using a rolling pin, flatten each piece into a small circle approximately 3-4 inches in diameter.
- Shape the Donuts: Using a small round cutter or the cap of a bottle, cut a hole in the center of each dough circle to create the classic donut shape.
- Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Spray the air fryer basket lightly with coconut oil spray to prevent sticking and encourage browning.
- Air Fry the Donuts: Place the shaped donuts into the air fryer basket in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the donuts are puffed up and golden brown.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a shallow bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir well to blend the spices evenly.
- Coat the Donuts: Brush each warm donut generously with melted butter, then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Optional Vanilla Glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the donuts or serve on the side for dipping.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the donuts fresh and warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- For crispier donuts, you can increase air frying time by 1-2 minutes but watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Make sure to flatten the biscuit dough evenly for consistent cooking.
- You can substitute coconut oil spray with any other neutral cooking spray.
- Try adding a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar mix for extra flavor.
- Leftover donuts are best eaten within a day; reheat briefly in the air fryer to refresh.
