This easy, healthy recipe can be tailored with optional garnishes like mint and chocolate or yogurt drizzles for an extra burst of flavor.
Ingredients
Frozen Watermelon Treat
- 4 cups watermelon, cubed and seeds removed
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)
- Chocolate or yogurt drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Watermelon Cubes: Cut the watermelon into cubes, carefully removing all seeds to ensure a smooth texture later.
- Freeze Watermelon: Arrange the watermelon cubes evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place them in the freezer for at least 2-3 hours until they are fully solid.
- Blend Ingredients: Transfer the frozen watermelon cubes to a blender or food processor. Add the lime juice and honey or agave syrup if using. Blend until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
- Mold and Refreeze: Pour the blended mixture into ice-pop molds or small cups. Insert popsicle sticks if desired and freeze for an additional 2 hours to set the popsicles.
- Serve and Garnish: Remove the frozen watermelon treats from molds and optionally drizzle with chocolate or yogurt. Garnish with fresh mint leaves to elevate the presentation and flavor.
Notes
- Ensure watermelon cubes are fully frozen before blending to get a thick and creamy texture.
- Honey or agave syrup is optional and can be omitted for a natural, sugar-free treat.
- Use seedless watermelon or remove all seeds to avoid grainy texture.
- Chocolate or yogurt drizzle adds extra flavor but is completely optional.
- These treats are best enjoyed immediately after thawing slightly for easier biting.
