Description

These Halloween Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect festive treat, packed with rich chocolate chips and colorful Halloween sprinkles. The cookies are soft, chewy, and easy to make, featuring melted butter for a tender texture and optional candy eyes for a spooky touch. Ideal for celebrations or a fun seasonal bake, these cookies offer a delicious balance of sweetness and texture.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (67 g)
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar (100 g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled (186 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Add-ins

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • Candy eyes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the sugars and melted butter: Add the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar to a bowl and mix until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated and combined.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: Add flour, salt, and baking soda to the batter and mix at low speed until it begins to combine. Increase the mixer speed and mix for an additional 15-30 seconds until the dough is smooth. Scrape down the sides as needed, taking care not to over-mix.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles: Using a spatula or large spoon, gently fold in the chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles evenly throughout the dough.
  5. Scoop and prepare for baking: Place 2-tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them adequately for spreading during baking.
  6. Bake the cookies: Bake the cookies at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are set. Allow cookies to cool slightly on the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not over-mix the dough to keep the cookies tender and chewy.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  • For a spookier look, press a few candy eyes on top of each cookie before baking.
  • The baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven; watch closely during the last few minutes.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
