Description

A soft, moist, and fragrant cake made with yoghurt and delicately infused with orange blossom and citrus zest, perfect for a light and elegant dessert or tea-time treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice (optional, for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until light and slightly fluffy.
  3. Add yoghurt, oil or melted butter, orange blossom water, vanilla extract, and orange zest, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool before serving.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with orange juice glaze if desired.
