Description
This Pistachio-Crusted Salmon recipe features tender salmon fillets coated with a crunchy, flavorful pistachio crust, baked to perfection. The combination of rich salmon and nutty pistachios creates a healthy and elegant dish perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
For the Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin removed
- 1 cup shelled pistachios, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the oven and baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Mix the pistachio crust: In a bowl, combine finely chopped pistachios, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare the mustard glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Coat the salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush the top of each fillet generously with the mustard glaze.
- Apply the pistachio crust: Press the pistachio mixture firmly onto the mustard-coated side of each salmon fillet, ensuring an even layer.
- Bake the salmon: Place the salmon fillets crust-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and the pistachio crust is golden brown.
- Rest and serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped fresh herbs like parsley or dill to the pistachio mixture.
- Make sure the salmon fillets are dry before applying the glaze to help the crust adhere better.
- Adjust baking time depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets.
- Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
