Description

These Puff Pastry Brie Bites are elegant, bite-sized appetizers perfect for parties or holiday gatherings. Featuring creamy brie cheese wrapped in flaky puff pastry and topped with sweet fig jam and crunchy pecans, they deliver a delightful blend of rich, sweet, and savory flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Puff Pastry Bites

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Puff Pastry: Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet to smooth any creases and slightly thin it. Using a sharp knife or cookie cutter, cut the pastry into 24 equal squares.
  2. Assemble the Bites: Place each puff pastry square into a mini muffin tin, gently pressing down to form little cups. Place a cube of brie cheese into the center of each pastry cup.
  3. Add Toppings: Spoon a small amount (about 1/2 teaspoon) of fig jam on top of the brie in each cup. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the fig jam for added texture and flavor.
  4. Apply Egg Wash: Brush the exposed edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg to achieve a golden, glossy finish when baked.
  5. Bake the Bites: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the assembled bites for 12-15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is puffed and golden brown and the brie is melted.
  6. Cool and Serve: Remove the puff pastry brie bites from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes before gently removing. Serve warm or at room temperature for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed for easy handling and cutting.
  • Use good quality brie cheese for the best creamy texture and flavor.
  • Feel free to substitute fig jam with apricot or raspberry jam for a different sweet twist.
  • Keep an eye on the bites while baking to avoid over browning.
  • These bites can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to bake.
