Description

A rich and authentic tomato sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes, offering a naturally sweet and balanced flavor with minimal ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups San Marzano tomatoes (canned or fresh, crushed)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 68 fresh basil leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté chopped onion until soft, then add garlic and cook briefly.
  3. Add crushed San Marzano tomatoes to the pan and stir well.
  4. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Simmer gently for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  6. Add fresh basil and adjust seasoning to taste.
