Description

A comforting and flavorful seafood pasta made with tender mixed seafood, rich tomato marinara sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta. This elegant yet simple dish is fresh, hearty, and ideal for family dinners or special gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound mixed seafood (shrimp, mussels, calamari, or scallops)
  • 12 ounces pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Simmer the marinara sauce for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add the mixed seafood and cook for 5–7 minutes until the shrimp turns pink and the seafood is tender.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice for extra brightness.
  8. Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce until evenly coated.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley, basil, and Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • White wine can be added to the marinara sauce for extra depth of flavor.
  • Increase red pepper flakes or add chili oil for more heat.
  • Clams or crab meat make delicious additions to the seafood mix.
  • Zucchini noodles can replace pasta for a lighter version.
  • Frozen seafood works well after proper thawing.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
